Design Uses blue plastic tubing wrapped inside a bucket. Ball bearing descends down the tubing at a constant acceleration. Tubing is zip-tied through holes in bucket.

Conclusion As long as the ball bearing has a slight initial velocity the sphere will roll all the way down the vortex. This is also possible due to the exact differences in height as the bearing makes a revolution around the bucket.
