Principal – Oversees the entire school program, must be in the know. Assistant Principal(s) works with the Athletic Director. Athletic Director – Oversees the Athletic Program, Coaches and Players. Student/Athlete – Participants Parents/Guardians – Email, cell, twitter, etc.

Community – website, newspaper, programs, announcements, etc.. Local Media - ? School system – Is there a supervisor, mentor or someone you can ask questions?

Always copy emails to each other on items/issues related to athletics. Just a phone call and text message away? Weekly meetings with Principal and/or Assistant Principal Operational Leadership Team. Meetings before big events. Security/Police/Chaperones. Alerting the media and other outlets.

Hiring a Coach 1. knowledge of the sport. 2. Philosophy, relationship with kids/parents and community. Style, etc.. 3. Student/Athlete Academics/Sportsmanship and fair play. 4. Knowledge of policies and procedures – Administration of local and state rules. 5.DOES HE/SHE LISTEN???????????

Trust in your coaches Give them keys Give them the equipment, supplies and materials they need to run the program safe and appropriately. Give them guidance.
