The tough truth about our relationship with the world. If we have no vision, they perish.

Facts About the World 1/2 of the world has never heard of Jesus.1/2 of the world has never heard of Jesus. 2/5 of the remainder of the world is poorly churched.2/5 of the remainder of the world is poorly churched. 20% of the people in the USA think “If I lead a good life, I will get into heaven.”20% of the people in the USA think “If I lead a good life, I will get into heaven.” 80% on the people in the greater Seattle to Portland Oregon area do not attend any church of any kind.80% on the people in the greater Seattle to Portland Oregon area do not attend any church of any kind.

People Per Second, Perishing If we look at the world population (the births and deaths data) in light of this, we will find that: Every second that passes three people perish without Christ.

God’s Vision “For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believed in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”(John 3:16 NIV) “For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believed in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”(John 3:16 NIV) Perish >>>>>>>>>> Eternal Life Dawson Trotman, the founder of The Navigators, said, “Spiritual vision is getting on your heart what is on God's heart - the world!”Dawson Trotman, the founder of The Navigators, said, “Spiritual vision is getting on your heart what is on God's heart - the world!”

Jesus’ Vision The Great Commission - Our Mandate And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” (Matthew 28:18-20 NASV) And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” (Matthew 28:18-20 NASV)

Mathew 28:18-20 Go - As you are going or since you are going anyway.Go - As you are going or since you are going anyway. All Nations - Ta Ethnae (all ethenic groups)All Nations - Ta Ethnae (all ethenic groups) Our Goal as Christians is to become more and more like Jesus. Our Goal as Christians is to become more and more like Jesus. What did Jesus do during the three years of his ministry? What did Jesus do during the three years of his ministry? He made Disciples. He made Disciples.

The Great Commission 1 - Matthew 28:18-20 is the most definitive statement of what Jesus expects of those who follow him. Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." Matthew 28: 18-20 NIV 2 - Mark 16:15-16 contains the most concise wording of what Jesus expects from us. He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned”. Mark 16: 15-16 NIV 3 - Luke 24:47 provides the most direct statement of expectation. “and repentance and forgiveness of sins will be preached in his name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem”. Luke 24:47 NIV 4 - John 20:21 shares Jesus’ expectations in the most simple way. Again Jesus said, "Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.“ John 20:21 NIV 5 - Acts 1:8 invokes the most expansive listing of the commission. “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." Acts:1:8 NIV

From The Master Plan of Evangelism by Robert Coleman Jesus spent three years with the twelve, teaching them and building Disciples. Then he went to the cross, the grave, the resurrection and finally the ascension. When Jesus arrived back in heaven choirs of angels sang choruses of Hosannas to the King as he took his place beside the Father. At some point one of them came to him asked, “Please tell us your plans for carrying on the work of salvation and redemption for all mankind.” Jesus said, "I took twelve men and trained them for three years to be my disciples. I have left them to carry the message forward to all of the world and through all of time until I return to reign forever. The angel was astounded. “And what if that doesn't work?” Jesus said, “I have no other plan.”

Facts A person who has chosen Jesus to be Lord of their life can do no greater thing than to love someone else enough to help that person become more like Christ.A person who has chosen Jesus to be Lord of their life can do no greater thing than to love someone else enough to help that person become more like Christ. It is easy to go through life without any vision. It is easy to go through life without any vision. But now you know. But now you know. What will you do?What will you do?
