Introduction This presentation explains the basics of how to make a cake. This is a very simple and easy step by step guide to make a delectable cake whatever the flavour. There are options on flavours at the end of the presentation and choose whatever flavour floats your boat.Don’t forget that the cake I’m making serves 8 so you may want change the measurements to make your cake.

Ingredients 175g Self raising flour 1 Tablespoon baking powder 3 Large eggs 175g Caster Sugar 175g Soft butter

Flavour Variations 1.Chocolate – Add 1 tablespoon cocoa powder 2.Coffee & Walnut – Add 50g of walnuts (finely chopped) & 1 tablespoon of coffee powder mixed with 1 dessertspoon of hot water 3.Orange and Lemon – Add the grated rind of a medium orange or lemon & 1 dessertspoon of the juice

Step 1 Preheat the oven to 190°c (gas mark 5) and grease two 8 inch sandwich tins and coat them with flour.

Step 2 Get a large mixing bowl and sift the flour and baking powder into it.

Step 3 Simply just add all the other ingredients to the bowl.

Step 4 Then whisk them all together, preferably with an electrical hand whisk.

Step 5 Divide the mixture between the two prepared tins, making sure it’s evenly distributed. Leave it in the oven for 30 minutes.

Step 6 When it’s ready, take the them out of the oven and leave them in the tins for 30 seconds. Then loosen the edges with a palette knife and let them cool on a wire rack.

Step 7 Once that’s done, sandwich the cakes together with the filling of your choice.
