4. I. HERE COMES JESUS THROUGH THE WORSHIP OF ISRAEL! ISRAEL’S WORSHIP INVOLVED BOTH THE: PLACE OF WORSHIP (TABERNACLE AND TEMPLE) AND ACT OF WORSHIP (SONGS OF ISRAEL)

5. A. THE PLACE OF WORSHIP (THE TABERNACLE AND THE TEMPLE)

6. THE TABERNACLE SPOKE ABOUT JESUS! “And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God.” (Rev. 21:3)

7. THE ENTRANCE/COURT AND GATE OF THE TABERNACLE SPOKE ABOUT JESUS! Jesus answered and said, “I am the WAY, the truth and the life, No man comes to the Father but by Me.” (John 14:6)

17. II. HERE COMES JESUS TO DESTROY THE WORKS OF THE DEVIL “The Son of God appeared for this purpose, that He might destroy the works of the devil.” I John 3:8

18. The Works of the Devil 1.Death “for the wages of sin is death…” Rom. 6:23 2.Deceit “you are of your father the devil…he is a liar and the father of lies.” John 8:44 3.Darkness “Men loved darkness rather than light because their deeds were evil.” Jn. 3:19

19. 5.Despair “you were without hope and without God in the world” Eph. 2:12 6.Disobedience “you were…sons of disobedience…” Eph. 2:1,2 7.Diseases “and He (Jesus) healed them of their diseases

20. PROBLEM: Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil – but He came and the works of the devil are still operative!

21. ANSWER THE FIRST ADVENT (COMING) OF JESUS: Jesus loosened the grip of the works of the devil by showing His superior power and how He can make a difference! THE SECOND ADVENT (COMING) OF JESUS: Jesus is coming again – next time, not to loosen the grip – but to obliterate the works of the devil!

22. Truth to live by: All of our worship ought to be centered on Jesus Christ – Both the place of worship and the act of worship ought to proclaim – “He is worthy!”

23. Truth to live by: The first coming of Jesus provided a contrast between Him and the devil so people can see the difference that Jesus Christ can make in one’s life. “The thief (devil) comes to steal, kill, and destroy. I have come that they may have life and that they may have it more abundantly.” John 10:10

24. Truth to live by: Every thing bad in this world is a result of the works of the devil. When Jesus comes again, these works will be totally destroyed – forever! “For the Son of God appeared for this purpose, that He might destroy the works of the devil.” I John 3:8
