Learning Goal: I can effectively use Learning Goals and Scales to impact student learning. 1234 I confuse LG and activities I use the same Scales for all LG I have too many or too few LG LG and Scales are based on CUSD Standards LG are in student friendly language Scales are specific to the LG LG and Scales are based on CUSD Standards Students are able to explain the LG and Scale Students use a variety of methods to track their progress I use the Scale to monitor students’ mastery My Scales are cross curricular I involve students in creating LG and Scales

Why Learning Goals & Scales Learning targets convey to students the destination for the lesson, what to learn, how deeply to learn it, and exactly how to demonstrate their new learning…….. Creating Scales One Size Fits All or Tailored Made? Students need a clear understanding of what needs to be learned, track their progress along the way, and recognize when they have achieved the target. The scale: 3 mastery of the goal 4 student taking the goal to the next level 2 and 1 reflect the sub skills needed to master the learning goal
