9/30 Chalk Talk on Our Design Objective: IWBAT create a to-scale design of our bridge, within our group, and critique my classmates’ designs EQ: What modifications can be made to your bridge design, to improve it, according to your classmates? Dispatch: What is the most important thing to remember when designing your bridge? Classwork: Group bridge design and Share out Chalk Talk HW: Reflection 9L
2
9/11 Objective: IWBAT better understand class expectations and PBL EQ: How will PBL positively or negatively affect you? Dispatch: What do you think or what do you hope this class will consist of?
3
9/15 Objective: IWBAT begin and correctly construct design my skimmer EQ: What were the dimensions of your skimmer? Do they matter? Dispatch: Explain the importance of correct measurements in engineering?
4
9/16 Objective: I will be able to accurately measure and design my skimmer and identify potential variables that will affect its function! EQ: What variables can affect the question distance your skimmer can travel and what will you do to prevent them? Dispatch: Explain friction and gravity and their affects on motion and speed and distance.
5
9/18 Objective: IWBAT research a field of engineering PBL topic and finish my skimmer design EQ: What PBL topic did your group research? How can you contribute to that area at engineering. Dispatch: Now that you have a better idea of what this class will consist of, think of a PBL topic and describe what the final product will be.
6
9/22 Objective: IWBAT finish my skimmer launch it record the distance traveled in meters and feet EQ: What do your recordings reveal about your skimmer design? Dispatch: Explain how to find average, distance, step by step. What would be problematic as in averages in analysis?
7
9/24 Objective: IWBAT finish my skimmer, launch it and record the distance traveled in meters and feet EQ: What do your recordings reveal about your skimmer design? Dispatch Find Mean, Median, and Mode for: 106 16 16 24 12 32 10 22
8
9/25 Objective: IWBAT accesses my understanding of notebook expectations EQ: What can you do to improve your notebook or maintain your notebook if no improvement is needed Dispatch: SILENTLY!!! Organize your notebook silently or check your quiz
9
9/29 Objective: IWBAT generable ideas on how to make structures withstand natural disasters while being cost effective EQ: What is necessary for students to withstand natural disasters by being use effective? Dispatch: What ways can human errors and natural disasters effect manmade structures?
10
9/30 Objective: IWBAT create a to scale design of our bridge within our group and critique my classmates design. EQ: What modifications can be made to your bridge design to improve it according to your classmates. Dispatch: What is the most important thing to remember when designing your bridge?

Chalk Talk 1) Each group member will create a Final Draft bridge design on the back of their Rough Draft 2) Each group will create a Group design on the Poster Paper with a description including what materials you will use and measurements (20 mins) 3) Each group will share their design ideas 4) We will do a gallery walk, commenting on each design, only using Post-Its, NO TALKING!
