Oh sing to the L ORD a new song, for he has done marvelous things… Psalm 98:1-6 Call to Worship

His right hand and his holy arm have worked salvation for him. The L ORD has made known his salvation; he has revealed his righteousness in the sight of the nations…

He has remembered his steadfast love and faithfulness to the house of Israel. All the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God. Make a joyful noise to the L ORD, all the earth; break forth into joyous song and sing praises…

Sing praises to the L ORD with the lyre, with the lyre and the sound of melody! With trumpets and the sound of the horn make a joyful noise before the King, the L ORD !

Rise, O church and lift your voices, Christ has conquered death and hell. Sing as all the earth rejoices; resurrection anthems swell. Text: Jack W. Hayford Music: Henry T. Smart Worship Christ, The Risen King

Come and worship, come and worship, worship Christ, the risen King!

See the tomb where death has laid him, empty now, its mouth declares: “Death and I could not contain him, for the throne of life he shares.”

Come and worship, come and worship, worship Christ, the risen King!

Hear the earth protest and tremble, see the stone removed with pow’r; all hell’s minions may assemble, but cannot withstand his hour.

He has conquered, he has conquered, Christ the Lord, the risen King!

Doubt may lift its head to murmur, scoffers mock and sinners jeer; but the truth proclaims a wonder thoughtful hearts receive with cheer.

He is risen, he is risen, now receive the risen King!

We acclaim your life, O Jesus, now we sing your victory; sin or hell may seek to seize us, but your conquest keeps us free.

“Worship Christ, The Risen King” Text: Jack W. Hayford Music: Henry T. Smart 1986 Annamarie Music / Rocksmith Music CCLI License #11109756 Stand in triumph, stand in triumph, worship Christ, the risen King!

Prayer of Invocation

“Yet even now,” declares the L ORD, “return to me with all your heart, with fasting, with weeping, and with mourning; and rend your hearts and not your garments”… Joel 2:12-13 Call to Confession of Sin

Return to the L ORD your God, for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love; and he relents over disaster.

(From Daniel 9) O Lord, the great and awesome God, who keeps covenant and steadfast love with those who love him and keep his commandments… Confession of Sin

we have sinned and done wrong and acted wickedly and rebelled, turning aside from your commandments and rules…

We have not listened to your servants the prophets. To you, O Lord, belongs righteousness, but to us open shame, because we have sinned against you…

To the Lord our God belong mercy and forgiveness. We do not present our pleas before you because of our righteousness, but because of your great mercy. O Lord, hear; O Lord, forgive. Amen.

(Silent confession)

Everyone who calls upon the name of the L ORD shall be saved. Joel 2:32 Assurance of Forgiveness

May the peace of Christ be with you. And also with you.

Praise God, from whom all blessings flow; Praise him, all creatures here below; Praise him above, ye heav’nly host; Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Amen. Text: Thomas Ken (1674) Music: “Old 100 th ” / Genevan Psalter / Louis Bourgeois (1551) The Doxology Public Domain CCLI License #11109756

The Lord be with you. And also with you. Let us pray… Prayers of the People

Almighty God who is from everlasting to everlasting, grant us, amidst the conflicts of this world, the comfort of a perfect trust in you…

From pride and selfishness, greed and anger, spring passions that lead to war among brothers and sisters in Christ, as well as war among nations: Save and help us, O Lord.

For all who are afflicted by war within themselves, by the conflicts of doubt, a rebellious will, and the darkness of despair: Save and help us, O Lord.

For all who suffer in body and circumstance, the sick, the poor, and the prisoner, that they would be touched by your compassion in their time of need: Save and help us, O Lord.

And now as our Savior taught us, we pray:

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, And forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.

Come, ye sinners, poor and needy, weak and wounded, sick and sore; Jesus ready stands to save you, full of pity, love, and pow’r. Text: Joseph Hart (1759) Music: Dana Dirksen Come, Ye Sinners, Poor And Needy

Let not conscience make you linger, nor of fitness fondly dream; all that he requires as fitness is to know your need of him.

Come, ye weary, heavy laden, lost and ruined by the fall; if you tarry till you’re better, you will never come at all.

Come, arise, and go to Jesus, he will take you in his arms; in the love of your dear Savior you are safe from all alarms. “Come, Ye Sinners, Poor And Needy” Text: Joseph Hart (1759) Music: Dana Dirksen Public Domain CCLI License #11109756

My gracious Redeemer, my Saviour art thou. If ever I loved thee, my Jesus, ’tis now.

I love thee because thou hast first loved me, and purchased my pardon on Calvary’s tree;

I love thee for wearing the thorns on thy brow. If ever I loved thee, my Jesus, ’tis now.

I’ll love thee in life and I’ll love thee in death; I’ll praise thee as long as thou lendest me breath,

and say when the death dew lies cold on my brow, “If ever I loved thee, my Jesus, ’tis now.”

In mansions of glory and endless delight, I’ll ever adore thee in heaven so bright,

He has fully paid for all my sins with His precious blood, and has set me free from all the power of the devil…

He also preserves me in such a way that without the will of my heavenly Father not a hair can fall from my head; indeed, all things must work together for my salvation…

Therefore, by His Holy Spirit He also assures me of eternal life and makes me heartily willing and ready from now on to live for Him. Amen.

Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful. (Greet one another with the words, “The peace of Christ be with you.”) Colossians 3:15 Passing of the Peace

Thine arm the victory gaineth o’er every hateful foe; thy love my heart sustaineth in all its cares and woes.
