1 Warm up Someone, about your age, will be staying in your house for two weeks; and your parents want you to show the guest rooms inside the house and his/her room. Write six sentences you will say to the guest while showing different rooms in the house.

2 Asking how someone is feeling and telling how you are feeling Now, we know names of different rooms in the house. The guest knows now the location of different rooms in the house. **fatigué, faim, soif, un peu, crevé, and meurs- je suis fatigué,… To ask how someone is feeling: Pas trop fatigué (e) ? (you’re) not too tired? Vous n’avez pas faim? Tu n’as pas faim? Aren’t you hungry?

3 To tell how you are feeling: Non, ça va. No, I’m fine. Si, je suis crevé(e) Yes, I’m exhausted. Si, un peu. Yes, a little. Si, j’ai très faim/soif! Yes, I’m very hungry/thirsty! Si, je meurs de faim/soif! Yes, I’m dying of hunger/thirst!

4 Note de grammaire When you make a statement in French, your voice usually falls at the end. To ask a yes-or-no question, simply raise the pitch of your voice at the end of a statement. Tu as fait bon voyage? You can also add est-ce que to the beginning of the questionl Est-ce que tu as fait bon voyage? **When to use “si ”. You use “si” you answer a negative question. Ex. Tu n’as pas un stylo? (You wouldn’t have a pen, would you? Si (for yes in negative question)
