What are Sensory Words? 1. What does Sensory Mean? 2. What are the 5 Senses? 3. Name 1 sensory word for each of the senses. 4. Write a sentence to describe the picture. Write down what sensory word is shown in each sentence: 1. The spilt milk around the dumpsters on garbage day is rancid. 2. Today the air has a balmy imprint. 3. The red of the roses was so aggressively vivid that it almost hurt to look at them. 4. The strawberries were so luscious that I was led to believe they were just picked. 5. “Can I go outside now!”, shrieked the little boy.

Group Work Each student is given a post it note that looks like this: The numbers on the left are the chapters you will be using to search and the sense on the right is the one you are looking for. Please write down a sentence that has the sensory word in it for the sense on your post-it. Also write the page number your sentence was on.

Individual Work 1. (Sight) 2. (Sound) 3. (Touch) 4. (Smell) 5. (Taste) Copy This: Write your name at the top of the paper, this will be turned in for a grade. Write a sentence for each sense. Write anything you want, however it must have a sensory word in each sentence!
