CARDINAL and ORDINAL NUMBERS We use cardinal numbers ( one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, nine, ten…) to show quantity. o I have two siblings. o There are twenty- three students in my class. We use ordinal numbers( first, second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh, eighth ninth, tenth) to show position of something. o The second pencil is blue. o She answered the third one.

COUNTABLE and UNCOUNTABLE NOUNS Countable nouns have both a singular and a plural form and we can count them. We use a/ and numbers before countable nouns o A table o Two tables Uncountable nouns only have a singular form and we cannot count them. o Cheese o Meat o Milk

We don’t use a/ an or numbers before uncountable nouns but we often use some and any. o A: Is there any milk? B: no, but there is some yoghurt. SingularPlural Counrable nouns a carrot carrots Uncountable nounsMilk ------------
