Index Why did Hitler want to kill the Jews at first? “Night of the Broken Glass” How did they torture them? How many people did they kill? How many righteous were there in each of the alliance countries?

Even before the war had started the Jewish people were boycotted. Also the Nazis were in power before the war too! At first, the Jews were dismissed from government employment and business. The Jews even let the Nazis slaughter them. The Jews were totally isolated.

The Final Solution meant that it was a “ special treatment or ways to die” un-welcome to the Jews and lastly to annihilate the Jews. Part of the Final Solution was the “ Night of the Broken Glass”. First the Nazis boycotted the Jews and then made the state to remove all the Jews from the German society. Mobile Killing squads began to remove all the Jews from the Jewish community. There were six extermination camps in Poland: Chelmno, Belzec, Sobibor, Treblinka, Auschwitz- Birkenau and Majdanek. The extermination camps were killing centers designed to carry out genocide{meaning: to exterminate}

Most of the Jewish people were gassed during their stay at the camps. If the Nazis saw Jewish men out on the streets, they would beat them until they died. After they died the Nazis would burn them. If a woman was too weak to work, the Nazis would gas them. The Nazis also punished women by having them to pull large rollers. They had to work day and night, sick or healthy. The Jewish people died of poverty, beating, and torture, and hangings and shootings happened daily.

The Nazis killed about six million people. Most of the people were gassed but some of them were shot. The Nazis treated the children really badly, even the new born babies. Even though the Jews didn’t do anything to the Nazis, the Nazis would blame everything on them. When war came the Nazis put the Jews into Ghettos. Over 1.1 million people were gassed in Auschwitz. Ravensbrück was the major concentration camp for the Jews. So many people were put into the camps that they had to enlarge it 4 times during the war. During the war times 130 babies and pregnant women died.

As I said before the night of the broken glass was one of the parts of the Final Solution to exterminate the Jews. The events of the night of the broken glass burnt down 1,000 synagogues in 2 Days, 7,000 Jewish businesses were trashed and looted. The name “ Night of the Broken Glass” came from the windows that the Nazis broke that shattered all over the streets.
