Curriculum Design In the 1960s, curriculum designers such as Hilda Taba reduced Tyler's curriculum rationale into a simple procedure: 1. Diagnosis of needs. 2. Formulation of objectives. 3. Selection of content. 4. Organization of content. 5. Selection of learning experiences. 6. Organization of learning experiences. 7. Determination of what to evaluate and the ways and means of doing it.

Principles of Curriculum and Instructional Design
In addition to these seventh general principles that ought to guide C&I design, there are a number of principles that are more specific. developed a matrix of twenty principles and their corresponding applications for designers of C&I. The principles are derived from a synthesis of research into cognition and learning. Use these general and specific principles as guidelines for designing activities, modules, projects and units.

Instructional Design • draw students into group and cooperative learning as well as provide for individual growth • promote hands-on activities and an applied approach to learning • encourage students to question, think, react, reflect, and decide in ways that develop critical-thinking and decision-making skills
