Ihram Clean yourself Put on the Ihram garments

Ihram Clothing Ihram clothing is a simple white garment, this is so that all people, rich and poor, all look the same, so that all people are equal before Allah

Umrah Make Tawaf around the Ka’ba
Pray two Rak’ah behind Maquim Ibrahim Make Sa’I between Safa and Marwah Trim hair and remove Ihram garments

The running Pilgrims run between two “hills” Safa and Marwah this is because Sarah, Ibrahim’s wife, ran between these two hills in order to look for water, she found water at the well of Zamzam.

Going to Mina Put on Ihram garments Make the intention for the Hajj
Remain in Mina during the Tarwiah (The 8th day) and perform five prayers ending with the Fajr prayer on the day of Arafat

Going to Arafat Leave on the morning of the 9th day, and stay until sunset Stay in any part of Arafat Glorify Allah, repeat supplication, repent to Allah and ask for forgiveness Pray Dhuhr and Asr shortened and combined during the time of Dhuhr

Going to Muzdalifah Leave for Muzdalifah soon after sunset on the 9th day Perform the Maghrib and the Isha prayers combined Stay overnight and perform the Fajr prayers

Proceed to Mina Just before sunrise leave Muzdalifah for Mina
Go to Jumrat and stone it with seven pebbles Slaughter your sacrifice Shave your head Take off Ihram All pilgrimmage restrictions are lifted except sex

Sacrifice On the 10th day an animal will be sacrificed for the feast to be held at the end of the Hajj, this may be a sheep or a cow. The meat that is not needed for the feast will be given to the poor.

Shaving On the 10th day when the Ihram garments are removed men will often have their heads shaved as a sign of devotion.

Tawaf Al-Ifadha Make Tawaf Al-Ifadha Make S’ai between Safa and Marwah
After the Tawaf Al-Ifadha all restrictions are lifted

Return to Mina Spend the Tashreeq days (the 10th, 11th, 12th and 13th days of the pilgrimmage) in Mina Each day stone the 3 pillars starting from the small and ending with Al-Aqabah You may leave on the 12th day after the stoning

Farewell Tawaf Return to Mekka and make a farewell Tawaf (circling of the Ka’ba) Let the Tawaf be the last thing that you do in Mekkah

Going Home Some people will visit the prophet’s mosque but this is not part of the pilgrimmage Many people will paint on their homes their journey You may now be called a Hajjim
