1. God’s Wisdom For Our World GOD’S WISDOM FOR LIFE “They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. Sanctify them in the truth; Your word is truth. As you sent Me into the world, I also have sent them into the world. For their sakes I sanctify Myself, that they also may be sanctified in truth” (John 17:16-19).

2. Dedicated to God “They are not of the world... ” (v. 16). The dedication of a life to God and His purpose. “Present your bodies a living sacrifice” (Rom. 12:1); “glorify God in your body” (1 Cor. 6:19-20).

3. Disciplined by God “Sanctify them in the truth” (17a). A life trained and restrained by God. “Do not be conformed to this world” (Rom. 12:2a).

4. Distinctive for God “I have sent them into the world” (18). “You were washed, sanctified, justified...” (1 Cor. 6:11). “Be transformed by the renewing of your mind” (Rom 12:2b).

5. Discern the Will of God “Your word is truth” (17b). We enjoy an absolute standard of right and wrong! “Prove what the will of God is” (Rom. 12:2c).

6. “But now having been freed from sin and enslaved to God, you derive your benefit, resulting in sanctification, and the outcome, eternal life” (Romans 6:22). The setting apart of self, from sin, for service, in and through the Lord’s church.
