5. ECONOMY OF ANCIENT SLAVS The agricultural economy of ancient Slavs very small looked like modern. Not to die of hunger and to outlive a long and cold winter, a man had to expend enormous efforts. In a year Slavs had 364 holidays and New Year. Interestingly, that New Year for Slavs began first December and ended in March. Slavs were freedom-loving people. They were often taken in slavery, but they did not work there.
