1 Welcome to the National Learning and Action Network to Reduce Healthcare-Acquired Infections! Please join us for a series of national Learning Sessions where you will learn from national experts, high performing hospitals, and other professionals about how they have improved their systems leading to greater patient safety and quality of care! These all teach all learn events (everyone contributes!) will be highly interactive, engaging, challenging and rewarding. Those who participate will have an opportunity to learn and remember a set of strategies, change concepts, and specific actionable items for testing in your hospital that will move us forward as a nation in providing exceptional care in our communities. 2 SAVE THE DATES Healthcare-Associated Infections (HAI) National Learning and Action Network (LAN) Events Virtual Learning Sessions Thurs, March 21, 2013 Thurs, April 25, 2013* Thurs, June 20, 2013 Thurs, Sept 19, 2013 All calls 1:30 to 3:30 pm ET *4/25/13 only: 3:30-5:30 pm ET Session 1: The Face and the Case to Reduce HAI (3/21/13) During this Learning Session, participants will be introduced to a hospital with a story to put the face on the real cost of HAIs and actions that were taken, including the “Three Pillars of Prevention”. A national expert will lead us through an innovative business case development that will grab the attention of your CFO. Leave energized, inspired and in action! Session 2: Erase Cdiff with ERASE (4/25/13) Join the experts in discussion of the research and resulting Evaluation and Research on Antimicrobial Stewardship’s Effect on Clostridium difficile (ERASE) Project and resulting toolkit. The panel will include Dr. Gray, Dr. VanDeusen Lukas and Dr. Cleeman from AHRQ, as well as Dr. Belinda Ostrowsky, clinical principal investigator for the Project and Director of the Antimicrobial Stewardship Program at Montefiore Medical Center (NYC) and Dr. George McKinley, Infectious Disease Specialist at St. Luke’s Roosevelt Hospital (NYC).
