7. hoosegow (n.) jail Since 1909 the word hoosegow has been used as slang for jail just like clink, joint, lockup, or pokey.

9. rapt (adj.) Showing complete interest in something; transported with emotion; wholly absorbed This student is looking raptly at the teacher during the lesson.

10. reprehensible (adj.) very bad; deserving disapproval or condemnation I find it reprehensible that some people do not correctly secure their young children in a car seat.

11. rheumatism (n.) a disease that causes stiffness and pain in the muscles and swelling and pain in the joints Old dogs can get rheumatism; when this happens they can no longer move normally. Even going up the stairs can be impossible.
