1. Data Collection Device (DCD) Job Aid – Burn-in In DOIS Log onto DOIS. Click Options on the DOIS menu bar. Click on Utilities. Click DCD Software Burn-In. Click either Capture Mail Volumes or Street Data Collection (Form 3999) In the DCD Perform Command Boot. Plug in power supply and connect to serial cable Press and hold and keys simultaneously. Press and release the key. Release all keys. (Screen should display Command Mode, Select Function, Self Test) Press the key twice. (Screen should display Select Function, Program Loader) Press the key. (Screen should display Warning: EEPROM will be erased. Continue?) Press the key. (Screen should display Comm Parameters, Baud, 4 9600) Press the key twice. (Screen should display Comm Parameters, Baud, 6 38400) Press the key. (Screen should display Data Bits, 7) Press the key. (Screen should display Parity, Odd) Press the key. (Screen should display Flow Control, None) Press the key once. (Screen should display Flow Control, Xon/ Xoff) Press the key. (Screen should display Comm Parameters, Start?) Press the key. In DOIS Click the DCD Ready button. In the DCD (Screen should display Program Loader, Receiving:) This process should take 60 – 90 seconds. (Screen should display Program Loader, Status 0000) In DOIS Click OK to DOIS message: DCD Burn-in process initiated. (Inspect DCD for successful load – STATUS 0000) In the DCD Turn the DCD off, and perform a cold boot to start the program. See Job Aid – Troubleshooting panel 4. In DOIS Log onto DOIS. In the DCD Screen will be back at the date and time screen, ready for use in recording volumes. In the DCD From the Main Route Inspection Menu, select for download In DOIS Within 90 seconds, hit the “DCD ready” button (DCD screen will show that it is receiving data) Click “OK” to acknowledge successful transfer In the DCD Screen says “File Transfer Complete.
