Honor killing is when a women is killed to avoid bringing shame to the family It could be for refusing an arranged marriage, being a victim of a sexual assault, or doing something else the family doesn’t approve of Every year, over 5000 women are killed in Middle Eastern honor killings

Islam allows for a man to have up to four wives at one time Polygamy is allowed by law too Polygamy is causing the birth rate to rise This is causing overpopulation which can cause hunger

1% of Palestinian women have lodged complaint, although many more have been abused 98 honor killings in Gaza in one year 85 reported cases of rape, only one conviction 90% of people committing violence are illiterate
