4 The mentoring pilot program is an initiative of the alliance between the USBLN® and ODEP. ODEP – Office of Disability Employment Policy USBLN® – U.S. Business Leadership Network EARN – Employer Assistance and Resource Network ODEP/USBLN® Alliance

5 4 month pilot program. Enables access to mentoring opportunities that students and recent graduates might not otherwise have. Mentors recruited from New Freedom Initiative Award Circle of Champions businesses. Expansion to more companies in 2013. Mentoring Pilot Program Overview

9 Utilized information submitted on the mentor profile form. Matched requests to the Workforce Recruitment Program’s database of 2700+ college students and recent graduates. Mentors made mentee selection from 2 mentee profile forms and resumes that were provided. Review of the Matching Process

11 Receive coaching to support successful work performance during summer employment. Obtain a list of opportunities or resources for: Conferences, workshops, seminars, and courses Professional memberships and peer groups Leadership opportunities Books, articles, reports, and submissions Websites Listservs Resume review Mock Interview Learn about job opportunities in the field of study or area of interest. Develop a long-term career goal and identify steps toward accomplishing it. Links to other professionals for networking purposes. Practice disclosing disability and communicating disability-related work support and accommodation needs. Assistance in reviewing potential college courses and making recommendations for course selection. Career Mentoring Activities
