Promoting school-wide culture of higher expectations and support academic and social development. All 4 th Graders visit Long Beach City College. All 5 th Graders visit California State University, Long Beach.

7. Long Beach College Promise A Tuition Free Semester at LBCC. Guaranteed College Admission to CSULB for students who complete minimum college preparatory or transfer requirements. Early and Continued Outreach to students and parents beginning in the sixth grade and continuing through college. Support for the Various Pathways to higher education that students may choose to take.

Linked Learning: The Engine of High School Reform Overview: Student choice among several different multi-year programs of study, which combine academic and technical skills, organized around broad industry themes (i.e. biomedical sciences; engineering; arts, media, entertainment) and prepare students for full range of post-secondary options, including: 2- and 4-year college/university admission Apprenticeships Military Formal employment training Careers

9. Percent of LBUSD Graduates Enrolled in College The percentage of graduates have increased over the past 4 years and is above state average. Half of graduates pursuing higher education attend LBCC or CSULB.
