2 What is a HRA? A Health Reimbursement Account (HRA) is an account funded by Troy University health insurance premiums that will reimburse you for eligible medical expenses not otherwise insured. 3 How Does It Work? It’s easy! To earn HRA funds, a beginning balance of $1,500 for family coverage or $750 for single coverage is reduced by your claims paid during your first year on the health plan. Each time a covered employee or dependent has a prescription filled, visits the emergency room, or visits a physician, the portion paid by the Troy University Health Insurance Plan reduces your HRA balance. 7 Plan Highlights Employees are eligible in their second plan year of the Troy University health insurance plan.
