TIME FRAME STATUS Southwest Washington Workforce Development Council (SWWDC) Funding from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 will allow eligible 14-24 yr olds summer jobs in Clark, Cowlitz and Wahkiakum counties. 0Six week program from July 7 to August 14. The City employed 17 youth workers this summer. The program received $2M from the American Recovery and Rein- vestment Act of 2009 (ARRA). This grant was projected to create 800 summer jobs and provide meaningful work experience for low-income youth. Youth ages 18-24 were employed by the City July 7- August 14 working an average of 24 hours per week in the City Manager’s office, City Shop, and Traffic, Street, Parks, and Water/Sewer Divisions.

Assistance to Firefighters Recovery Grant or American Recovery and Reinvestment Act provided by FEMA. ARRA funding could provide remodel or new construction for fire stations. $210 Million Jul-Sep 2009 Application submitted July 9 th requesting $4,088,494 for construction of new fire station.
