4 History of Contracting Asset Maintenance  1990 – Began Contracting for Mowing and Litter Collection on Interstates Right-of-Ways  1990 to 2000 – Systematic contracting for: Guardrail Repairs Attenuator Repair and Maintenance Interstate Pavement Markings Rest Area Maintenance and Security Mowing and Litter Collection on Major and Divided 4-Lane Corridors Use of Memorandums of Agreement with Local Governments for Mowing/Litter Collection and Traffic Signal Maintenance/Operations

5 History of Contracting Asset Maintenance  2005 to 2011 – Added Contracts for: Motorists Assistance Patrols Motorists Assistance Tow Trucks Operation of Traffic Management Centers Median Cable Barrier Repairs Sweeping Program Management of LOGOS and Tourists Oriented Destination Signs (TODS) Contingency Contracts for Emergency Operations o Debris Removal, Reduction, and Disposal o Debris Removal Monitoring o Sign Repair o Traffic Signal Repairs

7 Recent Efforts  Consolidation of Short Segment/Small Contracts into Larger Statewide/District-wide/Corridor Contracts  Fence-to-Fence Maintenance Pilot Projects on I-55 In Hammond and I-10 in Lafayette o Unit Price, Low Bid Contract o Work Order Basis o Awarded I-55 Contract Only $3.6M 66 CL Miles 2 year term

8 Recent Efforts  Movable Bridge Light Maintenance and Operation Pilot Project o Request for Proposals (Qualifications Based Selection) o Awarded in March 2014 o 5 bridges (1-24 hour, 4 on-call) o 1 year term with 3 renewals o $225K Annual Contract Maximum

9 Recent Efforts  Development of Performance Based Contract Provisions for Asset Maintenance of the I-20 Corridor in Monroe District Low Bid Selection 116 Centerline Miles 5-Year Term with Additional 5-Year Renewal Annual Renewable Bonds Exclusions: o Rest Areas o ITS Equipment o Motorist Assistance Patrols o Bridge Inspections (NBI) o LOGOS, TODS, Outdoor Advertising

10 Future Efforts  Advertise for Performance Based Asset Maintenance of the I-20 Corridor in Monroe District This Year  Performance Based Operations and Security Contract for all Rest Areas o One Contract for all 10 Rest Areas  Performance Based Regional Asset Maintenance Pilot Project  Expand Movable Bridge Light Maintenance and Operation
