Commitment to our program A desire to be a part of something more important than a single player Be proud of Grayson Baseball Always “wearing” and representing Grayson Baseball Be on time and ready to work every day Represent the attitude and behavior that reflects well on the program and school

Expectations for Parents We must have 1 of 3 things from the parents 1 – Your effort and energies 2 – Your financial contributions 3 – Your contacts within the communities If you cannot provide all 3, specializing in one is perfectly fine

Goals: This year and Beyond This Year Compete for region championship Secure a 8 th consecutive playoff berth Show continuous improvement Continue the success of our younger programs Beyond Continue the progress towards a championship program Continue to make baseball a source of pride

“Serious Stuff” Bats – must be minus 3 differential BESR certified Strongly encourage wooden (composite) bats for practice Physicals-- must have before one can tryout Shoes-- don’t purchase before you make the team Spring Break All levels play region games that week IF YOU ARE NOT GOING TO BE HERE DURING SPRING BREAK, DO NOT TRYOUT!!!

Upcoming Dates of Interest Jan. 23 rd (Saturday) – Field workday 9:00am start, parents and players February 1 st through 13 th - tryouts February 16 th – “Meet the Rams” night Booster club dues, food, and merchandise Feb. 23 rd – Varsity hosting Loganville 5:30pm Feb. 25 th – JV opens @ Heritage Feb. 25 th – 9 th grade opens @ Heritage

TRYOUT INFORMATION February 1 st Cuts will be made by Feb. 13 th and throughout the two week period First couple of days will include data collection Skill level will be evaluated from day 1

If I make the team, what’s next? Time commitment Monday through Saturday Generally 2:30 to 6:30 for practices No spring breaks Summer baseball is huge Financial commitment (or access to funds) Each family is going to be asked to raise $525 per player through donations or sponsorship letters Each family is going to be asked to sell one sponsor board “Rent a Ram” fundraiser

Workday Information Saturday, January 23 rd @ 9:00am Purpose of workday Finish many of the small improvements Move lots of dirt!!! Clean and beautify surrounding areas Get facilities ready for tryouts and opening day What we need on the workday Lots of shovels, wheel-barrows, people, and job specific materials (depends on the task)

How can we get this done? Support of community and parents Money, time, resources are just the beginning Merchandise Financial means Best way is the free way (donations) Fundraisers Sponsor Boards Throw-a- thon Booster club dues

Between now and Feb. 1 st Throw and throw and throw Not enough time to get arms into shape if you start at tryouts Hit, mainly T work, soft-toss, and cages Tryout time is limited Be in shape At least be able to make it around field Understand what is at stake
