JV and Varsity Baseball Tryouts are here! Tryouts for 7-10 graders will be Tuesday, December 2nd @ 4 pm and tryouts for 11-12 graders will be Thursday, December 4 th at 4 pm. Evalutations will be on the baseball field (weather permitting) or in the indoor facility. If you do not have a physical on file, you CANNOT tryout therefore you CANNOT make the team! (Cont)

If you received a physical at the school last January or played on Varsity or JV then your physical is still good and there is no need to get a new one. You only need a physical and player release form if you are trying out for the first time. The Help Desk will be closed on Monday, December 1 until after lunch.

Mrs. Terri Smith is in need of volunteers to work the children’s craft area at Let it Snow on December 6th after the parade. Volunteers can sign up in here room, room 706.

The Food Drive Results are in! The Seniors donated a total of 337 cans, Juniors 19 cans, Sophomores 17 cans and Freshman 115 cans. The top 3 homerooms will receive the following prizes: Stella Martin's homeroom raised 177 cans and will receive a Chick-fil-a lunch or pizza lunch (their choice), Mrs. Kilzer's homeroom will receive a pizza lunch and Mrs. Fason's homeroom all receive a doughnut breakfast. Stu Co would like to thank all who brought money or cans to help Ecumenical Ministries feed our community.

Peer Helpers are having a bake sale in room 406 today and Tuesday to raise money for several Christmas charities. Students, please bring your money so that you can enjoy some great sweets!

There will be no Scholars Bowl Practice for the remainder of the semester. Practices will resume when we return in January. Questions? Ask Mr. Reed or Mrs. Hill.

Attention students, The Lady Lion Volleyball team will host a faculty/student volleyball game Tuesday, December 2nd during school. Tickets will be on sale Monday, December 1 and Tuesday December 2 with your homeroom teacher. Coach Walker will also be selling tickets during all lunch waves on Monday, December 1. All students who do not purchase a ticket will remain in class. Come out and support the Lady Lions Volleyball team and watch the faculty defeat the senior class!

Seniors: Mrs. K has a few extra senior shirts in all sizes. Long sleeve are $20 and short sleeve are $15—first come, first serve.

Juniors and seniors, are you currently a member of a Fire Department? South Baldwin Center for Technology will open the Fire Science Academy in January 2015. Students interested in pursuing this field must be accepted into the program. The program requires students to be academically proficient, good standing with their high school in attendance and behavior as well as in good physical shape in order to complete the physical requirements of the curriculum. A 24-hour course in first aid is required prior to the course beginning in January. The 24-hour course will be taught after school and possibly on the weekend to get the required curriculum covered. If you are interested in applying to this program, please see your counselor today — January will be too late.
