5. Red Scare This happened shortly after the end of World War I and the Bolshevik Revolution in Russia, the Red Scare took hold in the United States. McCarthy would threaten the witness before some of the hearings When this happened the witnesses would often loose their jobs when declining the subcommittees questions When the Supreme Court found this out they strengthened the rights of witnesses appearing before congressional committees

7. After Math Many hard-working citizens had loss their jobs because they were labeled as "Communists". People could not trust on another because of this relationships were being destroyed Innocent people had to go through the trauma of being prosecuted by their own country
