Wing T Offense misdirection - at least 3 attack points each play fun, high powered offense to watch -- when it works precision and timing - lots of pressure on a defense everybody fakes need athletic and smart linemen -- pulls, traps and reads

Wing T Offense: Benefits confusing to defend - can negate overly aggressive defensive star angle blocking compensates for lack of size fun for linemen - pulls and traps fun for backs -- misdirection excellent with quick cutting backs -- don’t need burners simple effective passing game -- mostly play action

Wing T Offense: Drawbacks precision takes work reads for linemen missed blocking assigments (particularly trap blocks) result in broken plays or losses in backfield passing is best if QB can throw on the run backs must fake

Linemen Blocking definitions {first step}: “on” -- man lined up head to head - {straight ahead} “gap” -- away from hole between you and next lineman {45} “down” -- away from hole, man lined up head to head with next lineman {45} “reach” - man in gap towards the hole {flat} (must block in opposite direction) “backer” - nearest backer straight ahead or away from hole {straight or 45} “stalk” - tie up block -- don’t drive -- give ground -- can wait “trap” - move down line and block from side at hole “pull” - sprint down line toward hole - trap block or seal off or stalk or lead Technique Progression: Bird dog first step - repeat repeat repeat -- must get angles right! On and gap series - drive block reach series down and double team series pull and trap series - low and speed speed speed pull and wall off Reads Progression: Learn holes first, then On...Gap...Down...Backer…Reach (must be last)

Wishbone Offense It has been run successfully at 12 - 14; can it be run at 7 - 9? Can use option snap; pitch is it fair to teach or is it too simple for teaching breadth of mechanics will kids enjoy it?
