Wollongong foreshore parks Wollongong’s parks are dotted up and down Wollongong coastline. Many of these have barbecue and picnic areas and regional playgrounds. Some of the city's foreshore parks are:  Bulli Park: Park Road, Bulli  WA Lang Park: Marine Drive, Wollongong  Reed Park: Bong Bong Road, West Dapto  Thomas Dalton Park: Carters Lane, Fairy Meadow  Rex Jackson Oval: Fletcher Street, Helensburgh  Stuart Park: Bottom of Cliff Road, North Wollongong  McCabe Park: Church Street, Wollongong

Wollongong foreshore parks These picnic areas are a source of pride for the whole community, and I encourage everyone to make use of the recycling bins. They're installed at:  Austinmer  City Beach  Thirroul  Bulli  Stanwell Park  Port Kembla Parks are essential to living kind as animals and people enjoy them. They are one of the many things that everything likes. Birds live in the trees and bugs live on the ground and people play around.

PLAYGROUNDS

Playgrounds  Playgrounds are in most parks. They give joy to children and the children have fun. Also a park is a good place for parents to leave their child when they want to look around or go to a nearby shop.  All the playground equipment in Council's parks and reserves are made for children and meets the Australian Standard.  Children with a disability don't miss out, either. There's a Liberty Swing at Stuart Park for them to use. It needs a Mylak Key to be used, and this can be purchased from Unanderra Home Timber and Hardware by people with a disability card. This Mylak Key also opens the disabled toilets.  If you want to report damage to playground equipment or a maintenance issue to do with our parks and gardens please contact Council's Customer Service on 4227 7111

WOLLONGONG BOTANIC GARDENS

Wollongong Botanic Gardens  More than 200,000 people visit the Wollongong Botanic Gardens each year. It's main attractions include the rose garden, the azaela bank and its section of Illawarra rainforest. All up, the gardens stretch over 22 hectares and have an array of plants from tropic and temperate regions.  The gardens are a popular location for wedding ceremonies, and bookings are available throughout the year. The Discovery Centre's educational facilities provides regular educational forums and exciting school holiday activities for children.  You'll find the Wollongong Botanic Garden in Keiraville. It's bound by Murphys Avenue, Robsons Road and Northfields Avenue.

Pioneer Park Pioneer Park was originally a cemetery. Now it's a popular spot for wedding ceremonies and photographs. The garden has more than 1600 rose bushes, which are in bloom from late November until March. Pioneer Park is on the corner of Kembla and Bank streets, Wollongong.
