5 CIS 1-A is about using word processing, spreadsheets, presentation media and the internet to, generate original research, prepare for undergraduate coursework in all majors, and generally have a good time (geeking out) kidding -- CIS 1-A with me works like a virutal research laboratory, where you will hone your technology skills while working on an authentic research project get ready to learn!

45 how can we predict where we are going? take a look at simple numeric indicators like: price of alternatives what people can afford vs what they already spend what do people wish for? what works, what does not work

46 in CIS 1-A, we will do all of that to arrive at a clearer picture of where we are going, and what the future will likely hold

47 but for now... we will study how to get knowledge, so on with our final exercise: on a piece of paper, write down 5 questions ask these 5 questions of 3 people nearby you in this lecture hall collect their responses

48 how did it go? was it efficient to collect data this way? do you know what the average answer was? can you summarize or make a conclusion from your data? what’s missing? Can you collect data this way for, say, a thousand people?
