I. Hereditary Diseases Diseases caused by abnormal chromosomes or by defective genes from one or both parents

II. Immune Disorders The immune system does not function properly.

III. Autoimmune Diseases Diseases where the immune system attacks the cells of the body that the immune system normally protects.

IV. Types of Immune Disorders Allergy Reaction by the immune system to a harmless substance (pollen, foods, dust) Asthma Disorder that causes the airways that carry air into the lungs to narrow and become clogged with mucous.

V. Types of Autoimmune Diseases Arthritis Inflammation of the joints Multiple Sclerosis (MS) The body attacks myelin, the fatty insulation on nerves in the brain and on the spinal cord

VI. Disabilities Physical or mental impairments or deficiencies that interfere with a person’s normal functioning.

VII. Types of Disabilities Vision Macular degeneration, glaucoma. Hearing Tinnitus, hearing loss. Movement Paraplegia, quadriplegia, and Parkinson's disease.
