7 More Quick Facts Ethiopia The Land: The Great Rift Valley cuts through the southern part of Ethiopia. On the northwest side of the valley are the grassy highlands. On the opposite side, the land is mountainous. Weather: It can get very hot in the lowlands—up to 120 degrees. The highlands are cool, in the 60s and 70s. 9 LET’S PRAY… for the kids of Ethiopia, especially the 40,000 street kids of Addis Ababa. that new churches will be started among the many people groups who have never heard the gospel. for Christians who have left the Orthodox church or the Muslim faith. Sometimes their families throw them out.
