How does biodiversity contribute to the sustainability of an ecosystem ? The reason Biodiversity contributes to the ecosystem because all living things are part of the ecosystem like the frogs help the pond and the dogs that eat the grass. All living things are important if something happened to one thing then every thing would be messing up and it would effect the ecosystem.
