2  Program Focus Research projects are offered in basic, clinical, or health services research relevant to older people  Program Duration 8-12 weeks of research Start date varies by student availability Poster presentation at annual American Geriatrics Society (AGS) meeting  Monthly Stipend Approximately $1700 Potential Travel Funds for AGS  NIA/NIH Any student accepted into MSTAR national program may not have any consecutive NIA/NIH award programs

3  Who Can Apply Currently enrolled allopathic or osteopathic medical students in good standing who will have completed one year of medical school at a U.S. institution by June 2015 Applicants must be citizens or non-citizen nationals with permanent residence Individuals on temporary or student visas are not eligible  Requirements Faculty Sponsor or Research Mentor Letter of Recommendation Sponsor’s work must be relevant to geriatrics and/or gerontology Faculty Letter of Recommendation Call the MSTAR Program Site before applying  Application Deadline January 31, 2015 Submit applications to The American Federation for Aging Research (AFAR)
