Step 1: Choosing a Location Choose a location that has access to a: Vertical surface with adequate clearances. Cold water supply line must be used. Drain with a high-temperature water rating. Electrical circuit rated to your humidifier. HM506 7 Amps HM509 10 Amps HM512 12 Amps Required Minimum Circuit Capacity Model

Step 2: Mounting on the Supply Duct Position template on supply duct, and ensure proper clearances from A-coil.
8
Step 3: Mount Bracket Secure bracket to duct using provided self-drilling sheet metal screws.
9
Step 4: Insert Duct Nozzle Install duct nozzle by ensuring o-ring gasket is properly seated in the groove, and slide foam gasket down over nozzle. Insert nozzle and twist clockwise to ensure tight seal of nozzle to TrueSTEAM.
10
Step 5: Mounting TrueSTEAM Push down to secure humidifier to bracket arms. Ensure gasket forms tight seal in duct hole. Allow 4 inches clearance from nozzle outlet to any duct wall and allow 24 inches of downstream open duct air space to prevent duct condensation.
11
Step 6: Plumbing Use only cold water. Do not use hot water supply. a. Water Filter. Insert 1/4-inch copper or plastic water line. Apply modest pull to ensure a tight fit. b. Back-flow preventer valve. Insert 1/4-in. copper or plastic water line. Apply modest pull to ensure a tight fit. c. Connect 1/2-in. drain tube. Secure drain tube to barbed fitting with hose clamp. d. Step 6: Plumbing

After Installation Educate the homeowner on what to expect next. It may take up to a week of continuous operation to achieve the humidity control set point. A slight plastic smell may be detectable the first week of operation. This is normal and will dissipate after running a short time. There may be a slight increase in the homeowner’s energy bill even when TrueSTEAM™ is sized and operating correctly. Set the expectation that comfort costs money to avoid callbacks.
