2 Please congratulate Kelsi Gremillion for winning 2 nd place at the Shrimp Fest Idol Competition on Saturday! Kelsi gave three wonderful performances and won a $500 scholarship for herself as well as $500 for the school.

3 Ciao! Are you interested in fulfilling a life-long dream to travel to Europe? Now is your chance! The Grand Tour of Italy will be in June 2016. Payment plans are available. Students may sign up in October for $200 savings. We will have an informational meeting in the library November 4. If you have further questions, please stop by and speak to Mr. Reed, Mrs. Turner, or Mrs. Cirilli.

4 Yearbooks are on sale for $55 until this Friday, October 17. See Mrs. Styron in room 803 to purchase yours.

5 The annual Beef Cook Off will be held at Foley High on Nov. 6 during 1st block. All students interested should stop by Mrs. Leverett's room, 412, to pick up an application outside of her classroom. Please complete the application and return to Mrs. Leverett by the 28th of October with your recipe attached. (Continued)

6 The top three winners will go on to compete in the county Cattlewomen's Association Beef Cook Off on the evening of Nov. 13. The winner of the county goes on to compete at the State Cook Off in Montgomery, Alabama. There are cash prizes for the winners of both the county and the state competitions and Foley has a long history of outstanding performers! So all you beef chefs, "Get mooooving!"

7 Attention Summerdale Students: Show your Support, Team Sharp-Team Phelps. Support your former teachers who have been diagnosed with cancer and are undergoing treatment. T-shirts are on sale to raise money to help them during their trying time. The shirts are $16 and are pink and blue TieDye. Orders will be taken until Friday, October 17. Purchase yours today from Mrs. Champion in room 406.

8 The Blood Drive is Wednesday from 8 am to 2 pm in the training room. A few reminders for preparing to give blood: Get at least 8 hours sleep the night before Eat a healthy breakfast/lunch—do not skip meals. Include iron rich foods in your diet. Drink a few extra glasses of water in the days leading up to your donation. Thank you for giving the gift of life.

9 There will be an Interact meeting on Wednesday immediately after school in Mrs. Styron's room, 803.

10 NHS members must enroll in the NHS Moodle Page and Remind 101 for the latest service hour opportunities and fundraiser information. Please see Mrs. Dossett or Mrs. Turner if you have any questions.

11 Prom committee applications are available outside Mrs. Champion's room 406. These are due by Friday.

12 Youth Task Force applications are due to Ms. Carver by Friday, October 24. Drop them off to her in the main front office.

13 Did you know there was a new Wrestling team on campus? Are you interested in being a part of the team? If so, plan to attend an informational meeting with Coach Walker on Tuesday during all lunch waves in room 315.

14 Seniors it is time to apply for college! Now is the time to apply, not December or January. Remember, many colleges set December 1st as the deadline for the first wave of admissions and scholarships. If you need assistance, please see Mrs. Lores. (Continued)

20 Seniors, November 4th is Alabama College Application Week Campaign. Your class is 419 STRONG! Our goal for this initiative is to have more than 50% of the seniors of the Class of 2015 to apply to at least one college or university or enlist in a branch of the armed forces by November 4, 2014. 22 As part of the pre-event activities for the Alabama College Application Campaign to be held on November 4, Mr. Tucker has approved Wednesday, October 15 as college t-shirt/polo shirt/sweatshirt day for the entire school — appropriate bottoms should be worn. Students may also wear t-shirts representing the branches of the armed forces. Please come out and support your college on Wednesday.
