2 © 2012 Autodesk Class Summary AutoCAD has a well-defined base model for establishing a drafting standard for your company. The DWS file structure, in conjunction with templates (DWT), enables any CAD manager to develop, audit, and maintain accountability and compliance with a drafting standard. By defining the DWS parameters, you are well on your way to developing a comprehensive 2D-based file structure standard. This roundtable session will display the basic concepts of the DWS structure and build the case for a base model that can be incorporated throughout your industry. Your participation is crucial to defining what that standard drafting model may look like so that we all can draft and/or Design While Standardized.

3 © 2012 Autodesk Learning Objectives At the end of this class, you will be able to:  Understand the use and intent of the _CheckStandards command  Expand the use of Templates  Build a case for CAD standards for any level of users  Develop a basic Standards model for your company and/or industry  Encourage participation of a DWS model throughout your industry
