New Services Employment Ontario Service Model launched in Ontario 2006 with the Apprenticeship Program fully implemented across Ontario as of August 1st, 2010.

Purpose: To help unemployed Ontarians to find sustainable employment.

Vision of Employment Ontario: Ontario will have the most educated people highly skilled workforce in North America in order to build the province’s competitive advantage.

Employment Ontario’s Service Promise will: Ensure the highest quality of service and support to help individuals meet their career or hiring goals Provide opportunities to make it easier for individuals to improve their skills through education and training Ensure that no matter which Employment Ontario office an individual walks into, they will get the help they need Work with employers and communities to build the highly skilled, highly educated workforce Ontario needs to be competitive

The Career Foundation offers the following through MTCU’s Employment Ontario model: 1.Client Service Planning & Coordinating Needs Assessment Employment Service Plan Referrals 2.Resource & Information Labour market information Job search/career resources Information on education & training Computers/Internet 3.Job Search Individual assistance in career decision making, goal setting, skills analysis & interview, employment preparation and job search support 4.Job Matching, Placement and Incentives Matching of skills and interest with employment opportunities and job seeker needs. Depending on training needs, incentives can be provided 5.Job Training and Retention Additional coaching and mentoring to maintain employment, complete training, or proceed to the next steps of your career path

Eligibility FOR INDEPENDENT JOB SEARCH - UNASSISTED All Ontarians FOR 1-1 ASSISTANCE IN JOB SEARCH -ASSISTED Unemployed: working less than 20 hours per week Not in Full-time studies/training Legally entitled to work in Canada Based on individual employment service needs

How to access Employment Ontario services O PTION # 1 – A CCESS R ESOURCES & I NFO If you wish to use career/computer resources & job search workshops to job search on your own O PTION # 2 – I NDIVIDUALIZED EMPLOYMENT SUPPORT If you need one-to-one assistance to look for work 1. Complete the following form: http://www.tcu.gov.on.ca/eng/eopg/publications/87-1734E- es_participant_registration.doc 2. Attend an appointment with an Employment Counsellor to assess employment needs 3. Obtain a customized Employment Service Plan 4. Attend job search coaching sessions until you get a job

Referral Process 1. Call the Employment Ontario office to set up a screening appointment 2. Complete T HE C AREER F OUNDATION R EFERRAL F ORM with signatures 3. Have the client come into the Employment Ontario office with a completed Referral form
