2 Word Count Goals Who? Everyone: K-6 th What? Reading goals for number of words you read Where? To find word count for specific books, go to AR Bookfinder. To find YOUR total word count, go to HomeConnect. When? When you read a book and take an AR quiz Why? Word count is a common language that all readers can understand.

3 How to find Word Count For a book’s Word Count… Go to Jacobson Website, Library, Accelerated Reading, then click on AR Bookfinder. Remember to click on title of the book after you type it in to see word count.AR Bookfinder For YOUR total Word Count… Go to Jacobson Website, Library, Accelerated Reading, then click on HomeConnect. 4 School Wide Goals Keep track of your word count for… Dog Tags

5 8 levels: Blue, Red, Orange, Green, Black, Purple, Silver, Gold This is a sample of the Dog Tag. All Dog Tags are laser-engraved on each color.

6 Dog Tags Levels are tied to total word count throughout the year You earn each colored tag by reaching a specific amount of words Your teacher will give you your Dog Tag when you earn it.

7 If you reach your gold dog tag goal, you will be a member of the Golden Ticket Club… Your name will be announced to come have your picture taken and posted on the Golden Ticket Club Board in Library You get extra book checkout and priority on book holds You are automatically invited to the AR Field Trip at end of the year Cutoff date for taking quizzes to earn the AR Field trip is April 17th
