2 Pitaya/Dragon Fruit  Can be found in the Americas: Mexico, South American tropics, Central America, and especially Ecuador  The Dragon Fruit is an yellowish-orangey covered fruit with unkind spikes. It has grayish pulp flecked with small, edible black seeds inside.

3 Açaí  How to say: (a-sigh-EE)  The Açaí is mainly found in Brazil  Is a round, dark purple berry that’s sweetened, frozen solid, and then mashed up and served along sliced bananas and granola along the beaches of Brazil

4 Guavas(goiaba, guayaba)  Found in the Americas, Mexico, Brazil, the Carribean  Guavas are a tropical fruit that is pinkish red on the inside, and bumpy green on the outside. They smell a little lemony.  The Guava is most commonly boiled into a jelly-like paste and served at breakfast.

5 Tree tomato(Tomate de arbol, tamrillo)  Found in Peru, Chile, Ecuador, Colombia, and Bolivia. Also cultivated in New Zealand.  The Tree Tomato may be orange or yellow in flavor.  It can be cooked with syrup or eaten raw. It is often made into juice

6 Nísperos (loquats, Japanese medlar, ameixa amarela)  Found in the Subtropical areas in Chile, Argentina, Brazil, and Uruguay  Nisperos are soft yellowish orange fruits.  The flavor is mildly sweet.  Have a few seeds on the inside that must be spit out when eating.

7 Physalis  Found in Colombia and Peru  Can also be called Cape Gooseberry and Chinese Lantern. In Colombia: Uchuva In Peru: Aguaymanto  Each individual fruit is the size of a small cherry tomato  The Physalis is quite sweet

8 Passion Fruit  The Passion Fruit is found in Brazil and Colombia  Its appearance is bumpy and dried-out looking on the outside. On the inside, it reveals a gooey mass of pulp with green seeds  Is most commonly enjoyed as a juice, but can show up in ice cream too

9 Prickly Pear Cactus Fruit  Found in semi arid areas of South and Central America, Mexico, and the Caribean  The Prickly Pear Cactus Fruit has tiny fibrous spines covering their outsides.  It has pulp on the inside of the fruit to eat.  It is often made into refreshing juices.
