2 The Caribbean has very large sugar cane, coffee, and tobacco plantations, and slaves were needed to tend to them. So when slaves were brought over from different countries, different languages were brought with them. First Base

3 Africa gives the Caribbean money for their slaves The Caribbean gives Europe cotton, coffee, tobacco, and sugar for Europe’s goods, mostly metal products. Africa gives Europe money for goods, they get the money from trading slaves Provided by Emma BooneEmma Boone

4 In the cay, a lot of languages were spoken. And since the cay takes place near Venezuela, Cuba, Aruba, and other countries in the Caribbean, the history would come from all different languages, cultures, and traditions. In the Cay, it said that Phillip’s mom didn’t like African-Americans. She said that they had their own place in the world. And this was one of the reasons that Phillip and his mother took a boat back to America. So the Caribbean is really made up of a lot of different languages from different countries. the Cay African-Americans Second Base

5 Third Base Once I went to the Caribbean and it was really hard to talk to people. And when you just started figure out what some words meant, some dude would come up to you and start speaking a whole different language. It was very confusing!

6 Homerun I think that people want you to know about the slave trade because it acts like a big domino effect. For an example; If one country didn’t want to buy goods or slaves, then the country selling them wouldn’t get money to buy things from other countries. So this could happen even now and would result in an economy disaster.
