Location Location: My group chose the place for our city which is on the Euphrates River between the cities of Uruk and Nippur. We chose this place because it is by the river so we can have irrigation for our crops and so we can go to and from the river with ease.

Economy We are a fishing city and we trade our fish we catch for the supplies we need. We also make small fishing boats and large transport boats. Besides fishing we harvest corn, wheat, and barley.

Trade We transport goods to other towns and cities. We trade about 60% of what we produce We sell some of the fish we catch.

Laws If someone steals they shall owe twice as much as was stolen. Every boy over the age of 13 is required to join the army. Every man has to give a third of their profit to the gods. If anyone talks against their leader, or gods then they will have their tongue cut off.

Laws continued If a dispute can’t be solved the accused will be strapped to a turning wheel. The accuser will then throw a knife at him. If the knife hits him he is guilty and if it doesn’t he is innocent. If a free man kills another free man he shall receive 100 lashes with a whip and the hand he killed with cut off.

Laws continued If a slave kills a free man he shall be put to death. If a man kills another man of a higher rank he shall be put to death by having his stomach surgically removed. When someone dies you shall send them down the river on a burning raft.

Social classes and Popularity Our social classes are the lowest which are slaves, middle class which are citizens, and the military, and the highest class is the priests, leader, and rich merchants. Our city is famous for fishing and our fast and sturdy boats.
