A A is for accomplishment Abraham Lincoln issued the Emancipation proclamation in 1863 which set enslaved people living in confederate states free. More than 200,000 freedmen went north to fight in the war.

B B is for broken apart When Lincoln took office the nation was broken apart, he saved the nation from its most dangerous crisis though. Lincoln had led the nation through its most dangerous crisis. He saved the union and put an end to slavery.

C C is for crisis Abraham Lincoln went to go see a play days after slavery ended. At the theater a man named Wilkes Booth shot Lincoln. Lincoln died the next morning. Before he was done being president he wanted to unite the nation without anger or blame.

D D is for divided When Abraham Lincoln took office the nation was divided into separate parts. Parts where people believed in slavery and parts where people did not want slavery. In the end Abraham Lincoln saved the nation.

E E is for elected Lincoln was elected to the Illinois state of legislatures and the U.S house of Representatives. In 1860 Abraham was elected president.

F F is for friendly Abraham Lincoln was very friendly he would always appear many places and talk to many people. He would make jokes about himself to make conversation. Lincoln visited the troops in Antietam Maryland in October 1862 after the first major victory.

G G is for the war had begun The first shot was fired on fort Sumter a U.S military base in South Carolina, on April 12 1861 only six weeks after Lincolns inauguration. The war lasted 4 years and took a toll on Lincoln. The war took more than 600,000 Americans lives.

H H is for hope Before Lincolns term was over he hoped to reunite the nation without any anger or blame.

I I is for impressed When Lincoln spoke at his first election he was running against a man that thought slavery was right. Lincoln spoke his opinion about slavery. Lincoln lost the election but impressed many people. Impressed face

J J is for Jokester Abraham Lincoln was always making jokes about how he looked. His jokes were made for conversations.

K K is for Kentucky Abraham Lincoln was born February 12 1809.Kentucky is where Lincoln was born. He was raised in Larue county Kentucky. In a town now known as Hodgenville. He was born into a poor pioneer family.

L L is for the Lincoln Memorial The Lincoln Memorial was designed by Henry Bacon after ancient Greek temples. It was opened to the public in 1922. It stands 190 feet tall and 119 feet wide. The memorial is visited by millions of visitors each year.

M M is for many people liked Lincoln Many people liked Lincoln because he thought that slavery was wrong. He thought that slavery should not be spread.

N N is for no schooling When Abraham Lincoln was young he had no schooling. He taught himself to read and write. As a young man he became a successful lawyer.

O O is for Confederate states When Abraham Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation he freed more than 200,000 slaves. Most of the freedmen went North to fight in the war. The Confederate States

P P is for protected Abraham Lincoln thought that slavery was wrong. But he thought that it was legally protected in states where it already existed. When he became president he promised not to interfere with states that had slaves.

Q Q is for equal rights Abraham Lincoln thought that everybody had equal rights no matter who they were. That is why he made the Emancipation Proclamation, so that he could free all the slaves in the Confederate States.

R R is for rescued When Abraham Lincoln made the Emancipation Proclamation he rescued over 200,000 enslaved men. That went North to fight in the war.

S S is for smart Abraham Lincoln was very smart. When he was a young boy he taught himself how to read and write. Later he became a successful lawyer.

T T is for trustworthy Abraham Lincoln was trustworthy because he promised that he would not interfere with states that had slaves. Eventually he did abolish slavery by issuing the Emancipation Proclamation and freeing more than 200,000 slaves.

U U is for united When Abraham Lincoln was president the nation was split apart. By the time that he was killed he had united the nation from the 4 year war. And from the controversy about slavery.

V V is for Victory When Abraham Lincoln was president there were many victories. The first big victory was the long Civil war. And the second was freeing more than 200,000 slaves in confederate states.

W W is for Winning When Abe was president the Civil war took place. After 4 years and many Americans killed America won the war.

X X is for extraordinary Abraham Lincoln was extraordinary because he would always make fun of the way he looked to make conversation.

Y Y is for Very tall Abraham Lincoln was very tall. He would tower over people. He was around 6 feet 5 inches.

Z Z is for zealot Abraham Lincoln had his own opinions about slavery. Lincoln wanted to abolish slavery unlike many of the other presidents. He eventually stopped slavery with the Emancipation Proclamation.
