March 2015 - SWEG Briefing

Concept Overview As the demand for richer and more complex LVC training grows the concept of Distributed Mission Training (DMT) has come to the forefront of ADSTC thinking. The concept of DMT is to allow simulations & simulators to be brought online over a distributed environment on-demand to deliver effective training in a far more cost effective, versatile and flexible manner.

SimTecT 2015 DMT Precinct To promote and test the concept of DMT, Simulation Australasia and ADSTC are inviting Government and Industry to join the DMT Precinct and connect their simulations into a shared scenario event hosted during SimTecT 2015. This unique opportunity will allow all participants to: Demonstrate their systems in a concrete example of DMT Demonstrate a technical ability to deploy onto the DTEN running the JLVC 2020 (v 0.6) architecture Increase visibility into the ADSTC systems and the evolving JP2035-2 prototype environment Highlight real capability to real customers/users To start to build a persistent test and R&D simulation framework fir the Australian simulation community

Current Positive Expressions BAE Boeing Bohemia CAE Calytrix CDN Cubic Elbit GetLogic IBM LM QinetiQ Raytheon Rheinmetall Saab Thales Titan VSS WHR Devices Ytek Zen Technology

High-Level Schedule March 2015:Complete DMT nominations Contact all participants with details Complete ADSTC arrangements April 2015:Technical details released May 2015:Technical pack released June 2015:On-site (Canberra) testing system made available for 8-12 weeks July 2015:Marketing & final floor plan arrangements August 2015:SimTecT 2015 in Adelaide

DMT Simulation Environment 2015 will be an Integration Demonstration, there will be no complex or overarching training scenario this first year Core JLVC and JCATS system will provide the underpinning environment – potentially an amphibious landing at SWB Using the DIS protocol only (C2 feeds to ADF) Participants will be able to insert and interact in ‘postage stamps’ within the JCATS area to demo their capabilities. ROE will be defined.

May 2015: Technical Pack During March & April we will be collecting system details from all participants to help shape the scenario. To help with off-site integration the following data will be provided: Scenario description Entity and entity mapping details DIS specification with example log of traffic with replay tools Terrain in various formats

Cost of Participation Technical integration to the DMT environment. I.e. engineering costs to build and connect your demo. Booth & related costs at SimTecT

Thank You To ADSTC and the ADF for making the DMT Precinct possible.
