The blood of bulls and goats –IMPOSSIBLE to take away sins External not internal Hebrews 9:13-14 No pleasure in sacrifice–from man –Ritual without faith –Process without obedience 1 Samuel 15:22; Psalm 51:17; Isa. 1:11-18 Christ’s sacrifice however v. 7 –God’s will from before the foundation of the world Isa. 53:4-5

3. –The new way (Jesus’ sacrifice) replaces the old You can’t be under two covenants –The new covenant sanctifies 1 Thess. 4:3 Permanent ‘holy’ hagiazo set apart by God –Sin is finally removed v.11-12 –It destroys God’s enemies Satan, fallen angels, rulers & authorities Phil. 2:10 –Promise fulfilled v. 15-17 Jeremiah 31:33-34 –Ah, at last, rest, peace. It is done! Don’t look back—don’t go back 2 Peter 3:9

4. –The positive call to Christ Jesus Confidence to draw near by the blood of Jesus The new and living way –Into the Holy place by His flesh not a curtain Now having a great high priest –DRAW NEAR »Sincere heart »Full assurance of faith »With a sprinkled clean conscious »Bodies washed pure –Hold fast your confession of hope No wavering—the promiser is faithful!

5. –As you hold fast Consider how to stimulate one another –To Love –To Good works (not dead works) –Not failing to assemble together (saints) »As some are doing by comparison-habitually Encourage one another, even more –The DAY is drawing near
