Dictionary Definition Mirror- 1) A smooth reflecting surface. 2) Anything giving a true representation to reflect as in a mirror.

Symbolism The mirror image of his physical self reflects who he is to others. But when he looks at himself in the mirror he sees himself on the inside.

First Text Reference “ These men were all mirror images of himself” (Bradbury33)!

Second Text Reference “And her eyes were all glass” (Bradbury13).

Third Text Reference “ He knew that when he returned to the firehouse, he might wink at himself, a minstrel man, burnt-corked, in the mirror” (Bradbury4).

5.) Discuss the themes of oppression and censorship in Part One. How is the government using technology to advance its political agenda? Montag is going through a state of oppression because of the governments censorship towards books. The government uses the parlor rooms and technology to distract people, so they can keep them under their control and stop feuds between people and other countries. Books helped people form ideas about causing feuds with others. “ So! A book is a loaded gun in the house next door, burn it. Take the shot from the weapon. Breach mans mind” (Bradbury58).
