1. ΘΠΣ LGBTQIA+ Frarority FALL 2014

2. Gamma Class In Fall 2014, we welcomed 16 members of the Gamma pledge class into our family. Their pledge theme was Willy Wonka’s Golden Ticket. Fall 2014 Bids GamFam With Their Handmade Banner

3. Camping Last fall we decided to have our first frarority camping trip. We were able to build stronger fraternal bonds and learned to tough the wilderness together. Buddy Attick Park We helped with lake and trail beautification at Buddy Attick Park by picking up litter. Cleaning up trash from the area prevents further degradation of plastics in the area and on their way to the bay and oceans. Picking up litter also reduces how likely a person is to litter in the same area again.

4. Family Letter Making After initiating Gamma class, we had a family letter making event together. Members were asked to bring an article of clothing to sew letters onto. New members got to make their first set of letters by hand.

5. Queer Cinema Theta Pi Sigma held a free screening of “The Birdcage” at Hoff Theater to celebrate LGBTQIA+ in pop culture. Teach For America We partnered with Teach For America to bring awareness to the education gap in disadvantaged youth that many members of the LGBTQIA+ community face.

6. Sex in the Fishbowl Theta Pi Sigma worked with famous trans story teller and TED Talk speaker, Scott Turner Schofield, to educate the campus community about sex, gender, and sexuality. Scott gave a short presentation defining sex, gender, and sexuality before allowing a panel of diverse members from the UMD community to share their personal experiences. The event was co- sponsored by Theta Tau, Lambda Theta Alpha, and Beta Theta Pi.
