Welcome ASL 1! Today -each team needs an iPad and an instruction sheet-by the iPad. 1. Doorbuster – copy all notes below: Circumlocution = to talk “around” the meaning of something, when you do not know how to say or sign it. This is an excellent skill to use in ASL. Instead of just fingerspelling, sign using what you do know. Can you figure out the term the person wanted to sign from the example below? Example: ME WANT, YOU-KNOW, AGE 16, SCHOOL LEARN DRIVE, TEST TAKE, PASS, GET PAPER, CAN DRIVE – THAT. Equals: I want a ___________ ___________ 2.Play“I spy”with your group: think of something in the room, the others ask questions. You only answer yes or no!
3
Last Five: Clean up any trash, and pack up to leave Push in your chairs (3 chairs per table, 4 ok for the 1 big table, then the rest at the side table) Stand in a semi-circle around the room – by walls (so all can see each other) Take turns signing something I make check marks, usually 2 per day, then at the end of the six weeks it becomes a test grade Absent? Sign you want to sign EXTRA for absence, and you can have an extra turn Reminders: Restroom passes for emergencies only; T-shirt money $13 ($15 seniors shirt)
