To solve a system of three equations algebraically: 1.Decide which is the easiest variable to eliminate. 2.Eliminate that variable by using two equations at a time; do it twice. 3.Take the remaining equations, which usually have the same two variables, and solve them together for both variables. Then substitute them into one of the original equations to find the third variable.

Example 1: All the variables are easy to eliminate. Let’s eliminate z: 1 2 1 3
